Thank Ginger :-)

I've got some more stuff.....I bought a camera off of someone at work but it's just not as good as my Nikon. I am suffering camera withdrawal.

Anyway, first we have bracelets for my steampunk costume.

Next up is a spiked headband. I had a couple of old, dead vinyl chokers with spikes so I cut those off and glued them to the headband. I rather like it.

The piece de resistance for this post is the corset. This is the last bits of that queen size duvet cover I found at the thrift store. (BTW, zippers are my new favorite front closure for corsets) I am getting to the point where I may feel comfortable making a corset for someone else. Maybe after I make the one that goes with my steampunk costume :-)

^^Well if you ever decide you would like to start making them for other people I know I would be happy to buy one from you. I think the zipper idea is superb. I know with both of mine they lace up in the back, so I can never put one on myself. Plus my lulu likes to eat the laces off of my corsets. I got mad... That was $150 corset that is now f*cked up.

I too love zippers as a front closure on corsets--provided they aren't historically geared.

You can always buy new laces. I know corsetmaking.com has lacing but they also have outrageous shipping charges and I think they have a $10 minimum. I saw lacing by the yard at Joann's for $1.49/yd., you would just have to secure the ends. You can also try looking for ice skate laces.

Thanks everyone :-)

And yes, if I was going for historical accuracy I would have used a busk but then again, if I was REALLY going for historical accuracy the corset would be made from white coutil and worn UNDER my clothes :-) And that's just no fun....

This is only one of the shirts I am working on. At this point, I think I am finished with this one.
